Zombie or karate kid?

2 min read

US network AMC has announced two exciting new show releases! (that is, if you’re into zombies and/or martial arts.)

Now that season 5 of The Walking Dead has ended, you may think that you’re done with zombies for a while. You’re not.

The spin-off of the Walking Dead, simply titled “Fear the Walking Dead” (someone in the marketing department was bored, right?) will hit your TV screens this summer (6, 1-hour long episodes)

Set in Los Angeles, the show will give us a glimpse of what the world was like as it was transitioning into the zombie apocalypse. The show has already been approved for 2 seasons!

PS: if you really can’t wait until the summer to get your weekly dosis of zombies, then why not check out the new Izombie on CW?  That is, if unlike me, you’re not put off by the official show’s description: “A zombie helps Seattle police solve murders by experiencing victims’ memories when she eats their brains.” Please let me know if it’s any good.

The big screen will not be spared either on May, 8th , with “Maggie”, a movie starring… Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin. Schwarzie plays the role of a farmer who tries to save his infected daughter in this post-apocalyptic zombie thriller.

AMC also recently teased a new show for this fall:  Into the Badlands, a unique martial art series.  Unfortunately, not much is known for now (hence the ridiculously short trailer below), other than the storyline is loosely based on the classic Chinese tale ‘Journey to the West’ and follows warrior Sunny (Wu) and a young boy as they embark on a treacherous journey across a dangerous land controlled by feudal barons to find enlightenment (in the US, though, and not Asia, go figure). Expect a great storyline and amazing martial art choregraphy.
